+KNIGHTS KEY (c, 2, Giant's Causeway–Lemon Kiss {SW, $152,110}, by Lemon Drop Kid) had fired a couple local bullets in preparation for this, and was backed all the way down to 8-5 for a barn that very rarely wins first out. Completely left at the start after breaking inwards toward the gap from his rail draw, the bay caboosed the field before mounting a three-wide bid into the bend. Coming wider still into the lane, he catapulted past rivals and kept on coming to wear down Sconnie Alumni (Include) by a long neck. The winner, a $300,000 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga yearling, is a half-brother to Lochte (Medaglia d'Oro), GISW, $696,247. His dam is a full-sister to MGSW Kiss the Kid (Lemon Drop Kid) and he hails from the family of Horse of the Year Black Tie Affair (Ire) (Miswaki). Lemon Kiss has a Speightstown yearling filly who sold for $230,000 at this year's Keeneland September sale and a Distorted Humor weanling colt. She was bred to Medaglia d'Oro earlier this year. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $33,000. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
