She Will Reign (Aus) (Manhattan Rain {Aus}), winner of the 2017 G1 Golden Slipper S., returned to the Warwick Farm track Saturday morning (video), according to Racing and Sports. Trainer Gary Portelli was pleased with his filly's development.
“She has come back a lot stronger and we're excited to see her back in the camp,” Portelli told Racing And Sports. “She was pretty excited to be back at trackwork too. She was straight back into her normal stable routine. Our foreman said she went out looking like a young girl and has come back looking like a young woman. She has an older looking head on her, is stronger through the shoulder and neck and has thighs on her like you wouldn't believe. He has a massive hindquarter.”
Portelli is contemplating several options for his G2 Tab Silver Slipper S.-winning filly, with a long-term goal gaining a spot in the A$10-million Everest at Randwick in October.
