Stud Las Canarias's Saltarin Dubai (Arg) (E Dubai) turned away long odds-on favorite Don Inc (Arg) (Include) en route to his first Group 1 success in the 26th running of the G1 Gran Premio Estrellas Classic, the highlight of the Carreras de las Estrellas card, Argentina's version of the Breeders' Cup.
Under a heady ride and confident handling from veteran jockey Juan Carlos Noriega, the fast-improving colt avoided a duel with pacesetter Romano (Arg) (Roman Ruler) and put that one away in midstretch before holding off a closing Don Inc in the day's marquee event.
Conditioned by Roberto Pellegata, who one race earlier saddled Eragon (Arg) (Offlee Wild) to victory in the G1 Gran Premio Estrellas Mile, Saltarin Dubai annexed his third straight win for the series' most successful trainer. Saltarin Dubai entered off a victory in the Listed Clasico Malvinas Argentinas over the course and distance on May 27.
