Safety Check (Ire) (Dubawi {Ire}–Doors To Manual, by Royal Academy), a dual winner of both the G2 Al Fahidi Fort and G2 Zabeel Mile for Godolphin, has been retired from racing to stand at stud in Argentina. The 6-year-old Safety Check won both those Group 2s at last year's Dubai World Cup carnival and was last seen finishing fifth in the G1 Champions Mile at Sha Tin last May. “He was a brilliant racehorse to train,” said trainer Charlie Appleby. “He excelled at seven furlongs and one mile and ran some exceptional races against strong opposition. To win four stakes races, including both the Al Fahidi Fort and Zabeel Mile twice, is an indication of how good he was on the racecourse. But he was also ultra-consistent, finishing in the first three in 16 of his 25 starts.”

Appleby added, “He was also third in the G2 Lennox S. at Goodwood, and fifth to the outstanding Japanese horse Maurice in the G1 Champions Mile in Hong Kong.”
