Rokki Five?

He's Our Rokki | Racing And Sports

A few impressive winning streaks will be broken in the G1 Toorak H. at Caulfield on Saturday. The hard knocking 7-year-old Royal Rapture (Aus) (Clangalang {Aus}) is going for six in a row while the market leader He's Our Rokki (Aus) (Roc De Cambes {NZ}) bids to extend his run of success to five. The Hayes & Dabernig trained 4-year-old logged two late season Group 3 races at Randwick in April and resumed the current season in similar form winning a Caulfield Handicap in August and following up in a similar contest Sept. 17. Assessing his chances on Saturday co-trainer Tom Dabernig commented, “He's had two runs at the 1400 metres and in a handicap like the Toorak he gets into it well. It really looks like a Group One that he could win but he also gets beyond the mile.” The training team also field the veteran Jacquinot Bay (Aus) (Galileo {Ire}) who has faced some stiff tasks of late including when finishing fourth to Black Heart Bart in the G1 Underwood S. “He's been racing in career-best form but he normally finds one or two better than him but he's at a track and distance he performs well at,” Dabernig added. Ciaron Maher's Bon Aurum (Aus) (Bon Hoffa {Aus}) brings proven Group 1 form to the table having scored in the Yulong Park Sir Rupert Clarke S. over 1400m at Caulfield Sept. 24 and is drawn in the middle of the pack in stall 7.
