Reeves Racing Acquires Breaking Lucky for Pegasus Slot

Reeves Thoroughbred Racing has reached a deal to run Gunpowder Farms' Breaking Lucky (Lookin At Lucky) in their starting gate position for the inaugural running of the $12 million GI Pegasus World Cup Invitational Jan. 28 at Gulfstream Park, it was announced Wednesday. Conditioned by Reade Baker, the chestnut captured the 2015 Prince of Wales S. and 2016 GIII Seagram Cup S., and recently reported home second behind Gun Runner (Candy Ride {Arg}) in the GI Clark H. Nov. 25.

Gunpowder Farms owner Tom Keithley said that West Point Thoroughbreds and Reeves Thoroughbred Racing have also purchased an interest into Breaking Lucky.

“We are thrilled to partner with Reeves Thoroughbred Racing and West Point Thoroughbreds for the Pegasus World Cup,” Keithley commented.

West Point's President and CEO Terry Finley added, “We bought in earlier this week, knowing it was a good chance to run in the Pegasus.”

Reeves Thoroughbred Racing has partnered with RA Hill Racing and Eric Young in their stakeholder position for the Pegasus World Cup. Breaking Lucky is currently in training at Palm Beach Downs, and has posted four workouts at that South Florida training facility since his effort in the Clark.
