Sunday's G2 Meilen Trophy at Cologne sees Jaber Abdullah's G2 Mehl-Mulhens-Rennen (German 2000 Guineas) hero Poetic Dream (Ire) (Poet's Voice {GB}) take on some smart older horses headed by the July 5 G3 Hamburger Flieger-Trophy winner Millowitsch (Ger) (Sehrezad {Ire}). The former's defeat of Lockheed (GB) (Exceed and Excel {Aus}) in that course-and-distance Classic May 21 was marked by impressive acceleration, but Millowitsch lacks nothing in the speed department as he showed when scoring over six furlongs at Hamburg last time. Elsewhere, last year's G3 Preis der Sparkassen Finanzgruppe, G3 Grosse Europa Meile and G3 Prix Bertrand du Breuil winner Pas de Deux (Ger) (Saddex {GB}) sets a solid standard but has to defy a three-pound penalty.
