+COLTANDMISSISSIPPI (c, 2, Pioneerof the Nile–Selva {MSW & GSP, $327,340}, by Forest Wildcat), installed the 3-1 second choice, broke sharply and was forwardly placed in the early going. Head-to-head with frontrunning longshot My Chinumado (Into Mischief) leaving the quarter pole, the duo were soon joined by Roaming Union (Union Rags) as the triumvirate entered the stretch in tandem. While My Chinumado retreated, Coltsandmississippi and Roaming Union continued to shadow one another, and despite the best efforts of the fast-closing Wyatt's Town (Speightstown) on the far outside, it was Coltsandmississippi that won the battle by a neck. Roaming Union held on for second, with Wyatt Town rounding out the trifecta. The winner's multiple stakes winning dam Selva, who produced a colt by Lemon Drop Kid last term, is also responsible for a colt by GI Haskell Invitational winner Verrazano and was bred back to Cairo Prince this season. Sales history: $400,000 Wlg '15 KEENOV. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $49,800. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
