Phoenix Thoroughbreds has purchased 2-year-old filly Lady Penelope (Ire) (Night of Thunder {Ire}), who has been supplemented for Sunday's G1 Criterium International at ParisLongchamp.

Trained by Joseph O'Brien, Lady Penelope broke her maiden at third asking at Down Royal on Aug. 31 and was second three weeks later in Ayr's Listed Roseberry S. She was most recently fourth in the G2 Criterium de Maisons-Laffitte on Oct. 12.

“We've been impressed with Lady Penelope's progress this year,” said Phoenix Thoroughbreds Chief Executive Officer Amer Abdulaziz. “She seems to be getting better with every start, which suggests she might make an even better 3-year-old. We're looking forward to seeing her race in our silks at the weekend and if she can show improved form again, we're hopeful she can go close. Whatever happens, with luck we will have a smart filly on our hands.”
