Orb Colt Shoots to Head of the Class at Timonium

Orb | Claiborne Farm

An athletic bay colt from the first crop of GI Kentucky Derby winner Orb (Malibu Moon) became the new sales-topper at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training after hammering to bloodstock agent Dennis O'Neill for $710,000 Tuesday afternoon. The Apr. 15 foal, who was purchased by bloodstock agent Mike Ryan for $170,000 out of last year's Fasig-Tipton October yearling sale, was consigned to the sale by Crupi's New Castle Farm as agent, and worked an eighth of a mile in a co-fastest :10 flat. A half-brother to GSP Colonel Sharp (Colonel John), hip 373 is a maternal grandson of the seven-time Grade I winner Sharp Cat (Storm Cat). The latter is in turn a half-sister to the talented European turf galloper Royal Anthem (Theatrical {Ire}).
