Online NY Stallion Season Auction to Benefit Wallkill TRF Farm

Beginning Jan. 27, at 10:00 a.m., breeding seasons to New York stallions will be auctioned off online, with the proceeds going to benefit the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation's farm at the Wallkill Correctional Facility. The three day auction, hosted by Starquine.com, concludes at 6:00 p.m. Jan. 30

Breeding farms and owners have donated the seasons to support the TRF's pioneering Second Chances program at Wallkill, where horses are cared for by inmates who are completing a curriculum in horse care and stable management.

“This is TRF's 34th year at Wallkill and the Second Chances Program is thriving,” said Diana Pikulski, the TRF's Director of External Affairs. “It keeps getting better and we hope to expand this year. It is the perfect place for Thoroughbreds just off the track who need some rehab before finding new careers and for men in need of a second chance are finding new roads to success by working with the horses.”

The auction currently features new stallion, V.E. Day, as well as Bellamy Road, Big Brown and Frost Giant. Seasons to Golden Ticket, D' Funnybone, Giant Surprise, Honorable Dillon, Majestic City, Marsh Side, Micromanage, Soaring Empire, and Trinniberg are also on the roster. Seasons are being offered No Guarantee and one right to breed back.
