Thoroughbred retirement farm Old Friends will be hosting several events this week in Saratoga, starting Wednesday with the Party on the Porch at Anne's Washington Inn. The event will be highlighted by Barbara Livingston signing her Old and New Friends book, which features photographs of memorable Thoroughbreds, including nine Old Friends retirees. The books are also available for signing by the horses' connections and will be offered for sale.
Summer Tuesdays at the Farm welcomes visitors every Tuesday to meet Old Friends horses like Commentator, Will's Way and Be Bullish, while this Sunday will feature an “After the Race” cocktail party at the Saratoga National Golf Club. Artisinal foods, a silent auction, wine, beer and live music will be offered. Tickets are $100, from which 100% percent of the proceeds go to Old Friends retirees, and can be purchased here.
Old Friends founder and president Michael Blowen will also be speaking at Equestricon Aug. 14 during the event's Aftercare Pathways Panel, sponsored by the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance.
