NTRA & Camarero & San Luis Rey Responders to Receive Special Eclipses

The National Thoroughbred Racing Association will receive a Special Eclipse Award for leading efforts to modernize tax regulations benefitting horseplayers and the Thoroughbred industry. All responders who assisted in the efforts to save Thoroughbreds that were victims of the hurricane at Camarero in Puerto Rico of the wildfires at San Luis Rey will also receive Special Eclipse Awards, the NTRA, DRF, and NTWAB announced Friday.

The Special Award honors extraordinary service, individual achievements in, or contributions to the sport of Thoroughbred racing. The awards will be given out during the Eclipse Award ceremony at Gulfstream Thursday, Jan. 25.

The Special Eclipse Awards Steering Committee is comprised of representatives from Daily Racing Form, the National Turf Writers And Broadcasters, the Breeders' Cup and the NTRA. The NTRA recused itself from any discussions relating to the Special Eclipse Award once its name was put forward for consideration.
