Musselburgh To Undergo Independent Review

Musselburgh Racecourse, which has had its licence temporarily suspended by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) after the body which runs the track, the Musselburgh Joint Racing Committee (MJRC), failed to agree to an independent governance review, could return to action as soon as July 14.

The BHA announced on Thursday that it has received correspondence from the MJRC and the local East Lothian Council stating that the review can now go ahead. However, the agreement contained a number of caveats on which the BHA is now seeking clarification.

The BHA hopes to confirm no later than 12 noon on Friday, July 7 whether the licence condition has been met and if Musselburgh's next fixture a week after that can go ahead as planned.
