Unlimited Budget was sent off at odds of 7-1, double her morning-line quote, largely owing to the presence of Brilliant Jewel (A.P. Indy), who earned a monster 92 Beyer Speed Figure for her debut runner-up effort behind Cue the Moon (Malibu Moon), who returned to just miss in the GIII Tempted S. last Sunday. Hustled along to take up a stalking position in second through the opening fractions, the Repole colorbearer took command after a half-mile in :45.97. Brilliant Jewel loomed up under a drive three furlongs out, but Unlimited Budget was always doing the better work, cut the corner under a hold and strolled home by an impressive 9 1/2-length margin. Squeal (Tiznow) was second best, while Brilliant Jewel could do no better than fourth. Unlimited Budget, a half-sister to Grade III-winning juvenile fillies Beacon Shine (Montbrook) and Jardin (Montbrook), was produced by a half-sister to GISW Outofthebox (Montbrook). She was hammered down for $475,000 at the OBS March Sale after she drilled a quarter mile in :21 3/5. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $40,200.
