Agave Kiss stole the spotlight on Belmont's New York Showcase Day, posting a dominating 6 1/4-length wire-to-wire tally in her debut over 12 Empire-breds Oct. 22. Not much of a secret at 1-5 to clear her first state-bred allowance condition here, the chestnut coasted through early fractions of :23.18 and :46.41, and cruised under the wire a 10 1/2-length winner without rider Ryan Curatolo moving a muscle. Mon Rose (Friends Lake) was a distant second. Agave Kiss's yearling half-sister by Lemon Drop Kid topped Phase 1 of the Flying Zee Dispersal at $375,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Sale. (Click here for a feature that ran on the Lemon Drop Kid filly topper and Flying Zee Stable in TDN's Oct. 27 edition). Lifetime Record: 2-2-0-0, $49,200. O: Flying Zee Stable | B: Nustar Breeding LLC (NY) | T: Rudy R Rodriguez |
