Embur's Song, a half-sister to Ten Flat (Meadowlake), SW & GSP, $147,070; and Embattle (Phone Trick), MSP, $339,083; brought a bid of $170,000 as a yearling at KEESEP. The bay filly made an auspicious bow at Keeneland Apr. 17, drawing off by 13 1/4 lengths, and earned a 99 Beyer Speed Figure. Returning to her native Ontario this time, she was bet down to 1-5 while stretching out to two turns, and came home a popular winner. The Fares Farm colorbearer assumed command at the outset, turned back a bid from 16-1 Clear Lake (Megas Vukefalos) at the top of the stretch and and was hand-ridden by Chantal Sutherland en route to a 3 3/4-length score. Clear Lake was six lengths clear of Ima Soul Miss (Perfect Soul {Ire}). Lifetime Record: 2-2-0-0, $66,046.
