Trappe Shot, C, 3, by Tapit

1st Dam: Shopping, by Private Account
2nd Dam: Impish, by Majestic Prince
3rd Dam: Lady Be Good, by Better Self

Trappe Shot, who sold for a sales record $850,000 at last year's FTTMAY auction, stumbled at the start and checked in fifth in his July 29 bow at Saratoga, but had not been out since. Favored at 3-5 in his return, the chestnut colt was three wide while attending the pace through fractions of :22.44, :45.42 and :57.42. He took command in upper stretch and strode clear without being asked to win by 10 1/4 lengths. Smoking the Field (Freefourinternet) was second and Monte (D'Wildcat) was third. The winner is a half-brother to Bought in Dixie (Dixieland Band, SW & GSP, $319,183); Bulling (Holy Bull, GSP, $203,302); Shop Again (Wild Again, SW, $122,274); Miss Shop (Deputy Minister, GISW, $1,126,038). Lifetime Record: 2-1-0-0, $22,650.
