  Churchill Downs, Race 12, Msw, 46,549, 2yo, 6f, 1:11, ft

Walking the Beach, C, 2, by Medaglia d'Oro

1st Dam: Babeinthewoods (SP, $100,920), by Woodman
2nd Dam: Delicate Vine, by Knights Choice
3rd Dam: Fool’s Miss, by Saltville

Walking the Beach failed to meet his reserve as a weanling, but sold for $180,000 as a yearling at KEESEP, and made $325,000 earlier this year at FTFFEB. The bay colt had several eye-catching morning moves, and went postward as the 6-5 chalk in his carer opener. Allowed to settle into stride in seventh down the backstretch, the Cobra Cooper colorbearer commenced a sweeping move on the turn and hit the front inside the eighth pole. His ears came up at that point and he switched to his left lead, but rider Miguel Mena gathered him up late, and the duo came home a cozy 1 1/2-lengths clear of fellow firster Honour Rocket (Chapel Royal). Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $28,070.
