Wincat boasted a solid worktab and was no secret debuting here at 4-5 odds. Put right on the front by jockey Jeremy Rose, the dark bay set fractions of :22 2/5 and :45 flat and was under wraps as hey cruised home 6 3/4 lengths clear of Dixieland Rocket (Dixie Union). It was another 7 3/4 lengths back to third. Wincat, owned by the red-hot West Point Stables, was a $45,000 KEENOV weanling, $145,000 FTKJUL yearling and $100,000 OBSFEB juvenile.
