Scat Daddy made it two straight winners for jockey John Velazquez since his return to race riding. The $250,000 KEESEP yearling garnered much attention at the windows since earning a bullet for working 5/8 of a mile in :58 4/5 last Sunday and was bet down to 3-5. Breaking from the rail, the dark bay dueled with Trip to the Bank (Trippi) through a half in :45. He inched ahead of that rival in midstretch, put him away and skipped through the slop to defeat him by 5 1/4 lengths. Scat Daddy marks the second winner from the first crop of his champion sire (by Hennessy). Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $25,800.
