  BREMEN, 3.45, Cond, 50,000, 3yo, 1mT, 1:41.06, sf

Saldenblatt (GB), C, 3, by Dashing Blade (GB)

1st Dam: Salde (Ger) (SW-Ger), by Alkalde (Ger)
2nd Dam: Saite (Ger), by Marduk II (Ger)
3rd Dam: Salesiana (Ger), by Alpenkonig (Ger)

Saldenblatt finished fourth at Cologne on his only juvenile start last November, but took the eye when plundering a mile maiden by 14 lengths back at that track Apr. 17. This performance was every bit as taking as last time and the well-related colt booked his ticket to the May 14 G2 Mehl-Mulhens-Rennen (German 2000 Guineas), again at Cologne, with a highly impressive win in this sales-related race. Keeping the leader within range until beyond halfway, the 3-5 favorite eased into contention rounding the home turn. He took control in early stretch and was not fully extended thereafter, stretching six-lengths clear of Arpino (Ger) (Protektor {Ger}) inside the final quarter with a further five lengths away to third-placed Dream of Gold (Ger) (Tertullian). The Eu80,000 BBASEP yearling purchase is a half to Salderschwinge (Ger) (In The Wings {Ger}, Hwt Older Mare-Ger at 11-14f, MGSW-Ger, $139,868-Ger & Fr; Saldentigerin (Ger) (Tiger Hill {Ire}), GSW & G1SP-Ger, GSP-Ity, $295,114. Lifetime Record: 3 starts, 2 wins, 1 place, Eu28,300.
