Glory Pass just might be ready to follow the example of big brother Alkaased (Kingmambo), G1SW-Jpn, G1SW-Fr, GSW & G1SP-GB, $2,799,039, as a turf star. The handsome bay, a Triple Crown nominee, debuted going down the hill Jan. 7 and finished a close fifth as the favorite. He tried the dirt Jan. 21, but wound up eighth in that seven-furlong heat won by the highly regarded Latent Heat. Stretching out here, the 6-5 chalk stalked the pace from third, delivered his run three wide on the far turn and kicked clear smartly, winning by three lengths under a hand ride. Lifetime Record: 3-1-0-0, $28,880.
