  What a Song, C, 2, by Songandaprayer

1st Dam: What a Knight (SW), by Tough Knight
2nd Dam: Run Tara Run, by Run For Nurse
3rd Dam: Tara Blue, by Bold Bidder

What a Song has turned a profit for each of his connections to date. A $47,000 KEENOV weanling and a $95,000 FTKJUL yearling, he blossomed into a $1,900,000 juvenile at BESMAR earlier this year. The Florida-bred had been training smartly for his debut with a black-letter work tab, and was bet down to 1-5 for his career opener. Breaking alertly, the dark bay raced along in second as Bengal Lore (Tale of the Cat) led through fractions of :22 and :45 1/5. The favorite moved up to challenge turning for home, hit the front and always looked like the winner, coming home 3 1/4 lengths clear under minimal urging from Victor Espinoza. Stevie Wonderboy (Stephen Got Even) rallied to get second by a nose over Bengal Lore.
