Slammed down to 4-5, the chestnut broke alertly from the inside stall and jetted to the lead, opening two lengths through a salty :22.22 quarter-mile. Taken on at the top of the lane by second choice Mission Command (Mission Impazible), Syndergaard soon discarded that foe and strode clear to triumph by three lengths in 1:10.05. The winner was a $92,000 Fasig-Tipton July yearling who sold for $450,000 at OBS April after breezing one furlong in a bullet-sharing :9 4/5. His dam was bred to Fast Anna this season.
