Irish group winner and U.S. Grade I placed Long Island Sound (War Front–Treasure Trail, by Pulpit) will take up stud duties at Joe and Helen Barbazon's Pleasant Acres Stallions in Morriston in 2018. Racing for Derrick Smith, Susan Magnier, Michael Tabor and Joseph Allen, LLC, the 5-year-old stallion won the 2016 G3 Diamond S. and was second in the GI Secretariat S. for trainer Aidan O'Brien. On the board in six of 10 starts, he won four times and earned $149,981.

“Long Island Sound was absolutely brilliant winning his first three starts,” said Pleasant Acres' director of bloodstock Michelle Hemingway. “He is from the direct family of the peerless Zenyatta, who won 19 consecutive races in her 20-race career. We believe he will be very attractive to breeders in Florida.”

Long Island Sound, an $800,000 Keeneland November weanling in 2013, is out of a half-sister to champion Zenyatta (Street Cry {Ire}), as well as to multiple Grade I winner Balance (Thunder Gulch).

Long Island Sound is property of a syndicate and will stand for $5,000.
