Juddmonte entered into a private deal to purchase Coolmore's spot in the gate for the $12-million GI Pegasus World Cup at Gulfstream Jan. 28, it was announced Thursday.

Juddmonte's GI Breeders' Cup Classic hero Arrogate (Unbridled's Song) will continue to train with this race in mind. Winner of five of his six starts, the Bob Baffert-trained “TDN Rising Star” shattered the course record in his 13 1/2-length romp in Saratoga's GI Travers S. Aug. 27 and ended two-time Eclipse winner California Chrome (Lucky Pulpit)'s perfect 2016 season with a half-length victory in the Nov. 5 Classic.

Arrogate will face off with California Chrome once more in the upcoming Pegasus and may make one more start prior to that test. They gray most recently breezed seven furlongs in 1:24.80 Wednesday at Santa Anita.

In addition to Arrogate and California Chrome, other possible Pegasus runner's include GIII Harlan's Holiday S. one-two Stanford (Malibu Moon) and Keen Ice (Curlin); recent allowance winner Neolithic (Harlan's Holiday); GISW Shaman Ghost (Ghostzapper); and Argentian MG1SW Eragon (Arg) (Offlee Wild).
