Graham Motion will debut an intriguing Flaxman Holdings homebred in SOGLIO (Scat Daddy), a dark bay out of GSW turfer Sea of Showers (Seattle Slew). Her second dam, Chimes of Freedom (Private Account), was a MG1SW in England who produced MGISW champion sprinter Aldebaran (Mr. Prospector) and GISW grass runner Good Journey (Nureyev). Chimes of Freedom is also a half to four-time GISW turfer Denon (Pleasant Colony). Chad Brown looks to extend his lead in the trainer standings by sending out well-bred firster Oiseau de Guerre (War Front) for the Coolmore connections and the colt's breeder Jay W. Bligh. The bay colt is a half to this year's GI Toyota Blue Grass S. runner-up and GI Travers S. entrant My Man Sam (Trappe Shot) and is out of a stakes-placed half-sister to GSW turfer Hudson Steele (Johannesburg). Todd Pletcher will be represented by Master Plan (Twirling Candy), a firster who sold for $850,000 to a partnership of Al Shaqab Racing, WinStar and China Horse Club at OBS March after breezing one furlong in :10 1/5. His second dam was an unraced full-sister to 1997 GI Kentucky Oaks victress Blushing K. D., and a half to Electronic Unicorn (Housebuster), a Horse of the Year and dual champion miler in Hong Kong, as well as Canadian champion grass mare Ambitious Cat (Storm Cat). TJCIS PPs

Bob Baffert appears to have a stranglehold on this maiden group with a pair of imposing firsters, led by Zayat Stables' CAIRO HEALER (Giant's Causeway), the first foal out of MSW/GSP dam Ava K. (Dixie Union) who is a half to GII Best Pal S. winner Skyway (Sky Mesa). The chestnut sizzled five furlongs from the gate here in :58 2/5 Aug. 21. The other half of the Baffert attack is Hot Sean (Flatter), a $550,000 Keeneland September yearling buy for longtime client Mike Pegram and partners.
