Inglis Introduces Chairman's Sale

Inglis will this year host the inaugural Chairman's Sale which, split between two sessions bookending its flagship Easter yearling sale, will offer high-class racing and breeding prospects.

The Chairman's Sale Session 1, set for the evening of Thursday Mar. 30, will offer elite racing prospects two days out from the opening card of The Championships on Apr. 1. Its primary offering will be the opportunity to purchase runners–in full or percentages– entered in The Championships to be conducted over the following two Saturdays at Royal Randwick.

The Chairman's Sale Session II will be held the evening of Friday, Apr. 7, the day after the conclusion of the Easter yearling sale and on the eve of the second card of The Championships. It will include top-class breeding prospects, weanlings, stallion shares and breeding rights.

The Easter yearling sale will remain in its original Apr. 4 to 6 slot, and in another change the Australian Weanling and Broodmare Sale will be moved up to Apr. 10 to 13.

Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster said, “The Chairman's Sale will present the perfect platform for investors to buy into some of the country's leading racehorses, as well as top-class broodmares and weanlings. With the focus of the Thoroughbred world on Sydney over this period, it then makes sense to revert to the proven formula of having the Australian Weanling and Broodmare Sale straight after Easter, as it provides vendors a greater buying market for their offerings.”

He added, “You don't improve if you don't continue to seek feedback from clients and we now believe the move back from May for the Weanling and Broodmare Sale will benefit our clients and allows us the potential to continue this new structure more effectively at our new site at Warwick Farm in years to come.”
