Highly Recommended To Cambridge Stud

Cambridge Stud's Henry Plumptre | Racing and Sports

The Group 2-winning Highly Recommended (Aus) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}-Suggestive {Aus}, by Al Hareb) will relocate to Cambridge Stud from Berkley Stud next season, according to NZ Racing Desk. Highly Recommended, winner of the 2012 G2 Alister Clark S. at Moonee Valley, has stood at Berkley since 2013. He was second in last year's first-season sire rankings and fourth among all New Zealand sires for 2-year-old earnings. His eight winners include a Group 2 winner and a listed winner.

Henry Plumptre, who was appointed chief executive of Cambridge Stud after the nursery's recent sale to Brendan and Jo Lindsay, told NZ Racing Desk, “This sire line of Danehill and Fastnet Rock is the most pre-potent and successful Thoroughbred line in the southern hemisphere. The future for this promising young sire is exciting. We are looking forward to him transferring north to Cambridge from Berkley Stud where Edwina Morris and Alan Jones have done such a great job with him. In attracting significant books of mares, they have ensured that Highly Recommended has enjoyed strong representation with his early crops. With access to a wider pool of quality broodmares, we believe the progeny of Highly Recommended will be keenly sought after domestically and internationally. The overseas interest already shown in his first two crops underlines this fact.”
