Hancock Appointed Keeneland Trustee

Seth W. Hancock, longtime member of the Keeneland Board of Directors, was appointed a Keeneland trustee Aug. 25 upon the retirement of current Keeneland trustee Louis Lee Haggin III.

Haggin became a member of the board in 1971 and a trustee in 1980. His grandfather Hal Price Headley was Keeneland's co-founder and first president. His father Louis Lee Haggin II became Keeneland's second president in 1940.

Hancock became President of Claiborne Farm's at the age of 23 following the death of his father Arthur “Bull” Hancock Jr.

“There is no place like Keeneland, said Hancock. “Their commitment to racing and sales have earned the support and dedication of horsemen across the world. Being chosen as a trustee is a great honor, as the respect I have for Keeneland spans a lifetime.”

William S. Farish and William M. Lear Jr. also serve as Keeneland trustees.
