Goffs have released their much anticipated Orby Yearling Sale catalogue which can now be viewed here. 464 yearlings have been catalogued for the two-day sale which takes place Sept 26-27 and past graduates have been busy advertising the merits of the sale as recently as last weekend when Washington DC (Ire) (Zoffany {Ire}), a €340,000 purchase in 2014, took his earnings to over €500,000 when winning the G3 At The Races Phoenix Sprint S. at The Curragh on Sunday. At an elite level the sale's poster boy Ribchester (Ire) (Iffraaj {Ire}) has established himself as one of the world's leading milers following Group 1 wins this year in the G1 Al Shaqab Lockinge S. and the G1 Queen Anne S. The Richard Fahey trained 4-year-old was purchased by David and Emma Armstrong's Highfield Farm for €105,000 in 2014.

Commenting on the launch of the Orby Sale catalogue, Goffs Chief Executive Henry Beeby said, “A Goffs Orby yearling [Ribchester] is the best horse in the world to have been sold in Europe. That is certainly a point worth dwelling on. Over the last few years the Orby catalogue has featured an ever-increasing share of the best-bred yearlings available and that quality can be seen through the performances of our graduates on the track. With so many leading breeders choosing Orby as their first choice for more of their best yearlings, this can only increase the chances of buyers finding their own Ribchester of the future. It is our confident prediction that the 2017 catalogue is better than ever, making Orby '17 a date that simply must be in every international buyer's diary”.

Some of the many choice pedigrees on offer include lot 87, a Dubawi (GB) half-sister to Group 2 winner Banimpire (Ire) (Holy Roman Emperor {Ire}); lot 99 a daughter of Zoffany (Ire) and G1 Irish 1000 Guineas Nightime (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), who is already the dam of GI winner Zhukova {Ire} (Fastnet Rock {Aus}); lot 188, a colt by Frankel (GB) out of a stakes placed dam who has already bred two stakes performers; lot 213, a colt by Invincible Spirit (Ire) from the famed Kilcarn Stud nursery and a half brother to 'TDN Rising Star' Tocco D'Amore (Ire) (Raven's Pass) who topped the Orby Sale when selling for €2m in 2015; lot 362, a Dark Angel (Ire) half-brother to Champion and Group 1 winning-filly Chinese White (Ire) (Dalakhani {Ire}); lot 449, a filly by Sea The Stars (Ire) who is a half-sister to Group 1 winner Rosdhu Queen (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}) and lot 455, a filly by Galileo (Ire) out of a dam that has produced 11 winners from 11 runners.
