Godolphin In Strangles Inquiry

Racing NSW stewards are investigating a potential strangles case in a Godolphin racehorse from August 2016. It is alleged that the horse suffered from, or was suspected to be suffering from, strangles and stewards have advised that they will conduct a formal inquiry on June 27. In a statement issued on Friday, Godolphin noted it is assisting with the investigation and will continue to cooperate with stewards.

Trainer Matt Cumani last month copped a six-month ban and a A$20,000 fine after he failed to properly report a strangles outbreak in his stable. John O'Shea was head trainer at Godolphin in August 2016, and he has since left that position, which will be taken over by James Cummings in July.
