KEW GARDENS (IRE) (c, 2, Galileo {Ire}–Chelsea Rose {Ire} {Hwt. 3yo Filly-Ire at 9.5-10.5f, G1SW-Ire & G1SP-Ity, $527,260}, by Desert King {Ire}), who was an Aug. 7 debut seventh going seven panels in a hot Curragh maiden last time, broke in fifth and tanked into a stalking second after the initial exchanges of this one. Nudged to the front approaching the final quarter mile, the 4-6 was untroubled by outclassed rivals and kept on well under minimal urging to score by 4 1/2 lengths from Tonkin (Ire) (Camelot {GB}). “He's a nice horse and will make a lovely stayer,” said winning rider Donnacha O'Brien. “He handled the [soft] ground well and has done it nicely. He broke a bit slow, but I took him to the outside and let him go his own pace. I'd say he'll be a mile-and-a-half horse next year, and maybe even further, but he has a bit of class.” He is the fourth scorer produced by G1 Moyglare Stud S.-winning Irish highweight and G1 Premio Lydia Tesio third Chelsea Rose (Ire) (Desert King {Ire}), and is kin to G3 Prix de Ris-Orangis victress and G1 Prix Maurice de Gheest runner-up Thawaany (Ire) (Tamayuz {GB}), Listed International Trial S. second Hamlool (Ire) (Red Ransom) and a yearling colt by Galileo (Ire). Lifetime Record: 2-1-0-0, $10,868. Video, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
