Two anonymous horsemen have donated $5,000 each in the form of a matching grant to help backstretch workers recover from the devastating fires in Southern California. “A lot of these guys just lost everything they have,” said one of the horseman, “and are going to have a very hard time getting back on their feet. I thought this might be a way to help them recover from at least some of the devastation.” Every dollar donated to this fund, up to the $10,000, will be matched by the horsemen, and the money distributed through an existing 501(c)3 organization with full transparency as to where the funds are going. Those wishing to donate to the fund should send checks to: California Backstretch Fund, c/o Sue Finley, TDN 60 Broad Street, Suite 100, Red Bank, NJ 07701.
