Flexibility Seeks Second Straight Win

Flexibility | Joe Labozzetta

Klaravich Stables and William Lawrence's GIII Jerome S. winner Flexibility looks to make it two in a row Saturday in Aqueduct's GIII Withers S. Besting a field of fellow New York-breds in his Belmont unveiling Oct. 10, the Chad Brown pupil finished second behind undefeated GII Holy Bull S. contender Mohaymen (Tapit) in both the Big A's GII Nashua S. Nov. 4 and GII Remsen S. Nov. 28. With that rival having moved on to Florida, Flexibility got his turn to shine next out with a decisive victory in the Jerome Jan. 2.

Jerome runner-up Vorticity (Distorted Humor) looks to go one better this time around for trainer James Lawrence. Earning his diploma at second asking in Ozone Park Nov. 8, the Matthew Schera colorbearer captured Laurel's Marylander S. Dec. 5 prior to his effort in the Jerome last time. Also exiting the Jerome is Donegal Moon (Malibu Moon), who fell to his face at the start of that test dumping jockey Manny Franco.

Franco gets another shot aboard Dennis Drazin's Sunny Ridge (Holy Bull). Opening his account with a victory against $40,000 claimers at Monmouth June 21, the Jason Servis pupil finished seventh in the GIII Sanford S. upstate July 25, but rebounded to win the Sapling S. back in Oceanport Sept. 6. A game second behind Holy Bull contender Greenpointcrusader (Bernardini) in Belmont's GI Champagne S. Oct. 3, the gray missed by just a neck last time to MGSW Exaggerator (Curlin) in the GIII Delta Downs Jackpot S. Nov. 21.

Zayat Stables' King Kranz (Munnings) finished second in the GII Futurity S. at Belmont Oct. 17 and was third in Laurel's James F. Lewis S. Nov. 14. A neck second back in maiden special weight company at Aqueduct Dec. 5, the John Terranova charge finally broke through last time over the inner track here in the Lost In Fog S. Jan. 1.

Impressive maiden winner Adventist (Any Given Saturday) could prove to be any kind in this step up in class for trainer Leah Gyarmati. The Treadway Racing Stable runner proved not for catching with an 11 1/4-length success in his career bow going six furlongs over this strip Dec. 19.
