Extreme Choice Targets Moir

Extreme Choice (Aus) (Not A Single Doubt {Aus}), a winner of the G1 Ladbrokes Blue Diamond S. in February, will target the 1000-metre G1 Moir S. at Moonee Valley for his return to the races, Racing.com reported Sunday. The Mick Price trainee defeated stablemate Flying Artie (Aus) (Artie Schiller) in that affair, prior to an eighth-place run in the G1 Golden Slipper S. at Rosehill Mar. 19. The Newgate Farm colorbearer, who also races for Aquis Farm, China Horse Club, SF Bloodstock and Matthew Sandblom and family, was then spelled after displaying muscle soreness in his hindquarters.

“He's looking great,” Price, who also saddled Flying Artie to a third-place run in the Slipper, told Racing.com. “I've got two races in mind for him at the moment, the Moir and the [1200-metre] Coolmore [Stud S. at Flemington Oct. 29]. He'll go back into pre-training at Rockmount on June 20.”

Price revealed that Flying Artie, who races for an ownership group, would miss the spring, as he continues his recovery from a sesamoid injury.

“He was found to be suffering a minor sesamoid injury after his run in the Golden Slipper and he just needs a little bit of extra time,” Price continued. “The plan at this stage is to have him back next autumn.”
