Inching ever closer on the bridle in the straight, the 11-2 chance quickened smartly to challenge with 1 1/2 furlongs remaining and was ridden out in the closing stages to assert by 3/4-of-a-length from Global Conqueror (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}), with the Dubawi trifecta completed by Godolphin's 1.2-million guineas TATOCT yearling Ghostwatch (Ire) 2 1/4 lengths further adrift in third. The homebred bay is the first winner for G3 St Simon S. victress Hazel Lavery (Ire) (Excellent Art {GB}), herself a half-sister to G3 St Leger Italiano and G3 Give Thanks S. runner-up Leo Gali (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), and he is kin to a yearling filly by Kingman (GB).
