Quidura (GB) made it two-for-two in America and signaled herself as a filly to watch for 2017 with a professional score here. A first-out winner at Baden-Baden in Germany last September, the homebred was a distant last in the G3 Karin Banonin von Ullmann at Cologne this spring and spent five months on the bench before resurfacing with Graham Motion for a good-looking allowance score with first-time Lasix Sept. 18 at Belmont. Off as the 7-2 third choice in this Friday feature, Quidura stalked the pace from fourth in the two path for the five furlongs. Drawing up alongside My Impression, who had taken over the lead nearing the straightaway, Quidura soon ran by that foe and held sway late over the soft going. “She's always shown a lot of signs [of being good] from the first time we worked her,” Alice Clapham, assistant trainer to Graham Motion, said. “Everything's worked out great.”
