Double Vision

Double Lady | Scoop Dyga

Having brought over the subsequent G1 1000 Guineas heroine Miss France (Ire) (Dansili {GB}) to win Newmarket's G3 Visionsport.com Oh So Sharp S. two years ago, it is significant that Andre Fabre opts to put forward the unexposed Double Lady (Fr) (Stormy River {Fr}) in Friday's edition. Second to the subsequent G3 Prix d'Aumale winner Toulifaut (Ire) (Frankel {GB}) on debut over seven furlongs at Clairefontaine July 9, Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani's acquisition registered a convincing three-length success over six at Maisons-Laffitte Sept. 12. “She won her maiden in good style, the form of it isn't so great but she won it so easily I thought it was worth giving her a chance in a race like this,” her handler explained. “She's a very good filly. She is good-looking, has a nice temperament and the hope is she could be a Guineas type, it is why she is running. It looks a good race, though, stronger than usual. I think she will run a very good race, whatever beats her will be a very good filly.” In an intriguing cast of fillies who have already traded blows in pattern company and those who have yet to be tested in that company, Asidious Alexander (Ire) (Windsor Knot {Ire}) could have more to offer. Noel O'Callaghan's chestnut would not need to improve too much on her last two efforts when second in Deauville's G3 Prix du Calvados at this distance Aug. 20 and an unlucky third behind Toulifaut in the Prix d'Aumale over a mile at Chantilly Sept. 8.
