Kaleem Shah’s 2015 GI Santa Anita Derby and 2014 GI Los Alamitos Futurity winner Dortmund (Big Brown), previously announced as retired in early April, has re-entered training, trainer Art Sherman said late Thursday, confirming reports from multiple news outlets.

“He’s back at the barn,” Sherman told the TDN. “He’s still for sale [as a stallion], but we put him back into training just in case.”

Sherman speculated that Dortmund will race again, but emphasized that no specific plan has been determined.

“He’s just been jogging two miles [lately],” Sherman said. “He looks pretty good. He’s put on some weight.”

The chestnut finished sixth in the grassy GI Kilroe Mile Mar. 11 and fourth in the Santana Mile S. on dirt Apr. 1
