+UNDULATED (c, 2, Curlin">Curlin–Polly Alexander {Ire} {SP}, a pricey son of a red-hot sire, got his career off on a winning note by fighting his way through traffic in the stretch to score first out over the Laurel turf. Off as the 5-2 co-second choice, the chestnut was squeezed back at the start and traveled second-last going into the far turn. Beginning to pick off rivals nearing the top of the lane, he split horses three different times in the stretch to just run down pacesetting favorite Bronx Sandman (Algorithms) in the final strides for a half-length victory over fellow closer Sleepless (Quality Road). The winner was a $110,000 KEESEP yearling who went for $625,000 at OBSMAR after breezing a quarter-mile in :21 flat. His dam was a stakes-placed turfer in Italy and is a half to GII Del Mar Derby winner and MGISP Medici Code (GB) (Medicean {GB}). She is responsible for a yearling full-brother to the victor and was bred back to Lookin At Lucky this term. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $22,800.
