Andy Slattery's stable star Creggs Pipes (Ire) (Rip Van Winkle {Ire}) will be sidelined for the next month after pulling out lame following her disappointing last place finish behind Nezwaah (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) in the G1 Pretty Polly S. at The Curragh on Sunday. The 5-year-old mare built up a huge lead in the race but faded tamely up the straight and Slattery reported, “She was lame after the race and this morning and we were worried it might be career-threatening. Thankfully nothing showed up on the X-ray this afternoon and it looks like she's just sprained a joint.” Creggs Pipes has been a marvelous money spinner for connections since being lead out unsold at the Goresbridge Breeze Up Sale in 2014, winning seven times including the G2 Lanwades Stud S. in May. “It's a big relief as we thought she was finished at one stage this morning. She'll be on the easy list for a month now and we can look at running her again in six to eight weeks. There had to be something amiss and I think we'll be keeping her to soft ground from here on in,” Slattery added.
