Unforgetable Filly | Galoponline.de

Having conquered here 12 months ago with Hawksmoor (Ire) (Azamour {Ire}), Hugo Palmer returned to plunder again with Unforgetable Filly who ran out a decisive winner against the best of the home-trained fillies. Progressive at two, the bay ended her season with a third in the G3 Oh So Sharp S. over seven furlongs at Newmarket in October and returned to the same course and distance to be second in the Apr. 19 G3 Nell Gwyn S. Sixth in the G1 1000 Guineas trying a mile back there May 7, she had reverted to seven to beat her elders in the Listed Maggie Dickson S. at Musselburgh June 3 but it was ultimately her stamina as well as her class that won out here. Settled in fifth early off the demanding tempo, she was driven to the lead with 150 metres remaining and stayed on strongly from the errant Peace In Motion.

The dam, who also has a yearling filly by Slade Power (Ire), is out of a half-sister to the G1 Haydock Sprint Cup-winning sire Dowsing and the GI Beverly D. S.-winning European highweight Fire the Groom (Blushing Groom {Fr}). She in turn is the dam of the brilliant sprinter and European champion Stravinsky, the Listed Hampton Court S. winner and GI Secretariat S. third Moscow Ballet (Ire) and the latter's GSP full-sister Sweet Firebird (Ire) (Sadler's Wells), who later produced the dual listed winner Ayrad (Ire) (Dalakhani {Ire}) and Listed Prix Petite Etoile scorer Dawn of Hope (Ire) (Mastercraftsman {Ire}). Also featuring under the second dam are the GII Muniz Memorial H. winner Enterprising (Elusive Quality) and the GII Fountain of Youth S. and GII Remsen S.-winning sire Read the Footnotes. The third dam Prospector's Fire is a daughter of the Kentucky Oaks heroine Native Street (Native Dancer) and a half to the GI Florida Derby hero Royal and Regal.
