Charity Race For Injured Jockeys

Ruby Walsh | Racing Post

The Irish Injured Jockeys charity will host a series of three races over the season, coined The Corinthian Challenge. A maximum of 12 riders will compete in the series, with each rider asked to raise an entry fee of €10,000 through sponsorship and/or fundraising. The riders will accumulate points in the series, with an overall winner announced at the end. The races are on May 29 at Naas, Darley Irish Oaks weekend at The Curragh July 17 and at Leopardstown in the fall. Ruby Walsh, Champion Jockey and Chairman of Irish Injured Jockeys, said, “we are thrilled that the race series has received such interest and support from all three racecourses and we're really looking forward to each raceday. We require 12 riders for The Corinthian Challenge to participate in this significant fundraising event, which will not alone raise funds for injured jockeys but with media support we hope it will build greater awareness of our charity nationally and abroad.”
