Cavorting Retired to Stonestreet

Stonestreet Stables' Cavorting (Bernardini–Promenade Girl, by Carson City) has been retired from racing and will join the farm's broodmare band in 2017, it was announced Thursday. A post on the Stonestreet website said that the three-time Grade I-winning 'TDN Rising Star' was recently diagnosed with minor bone bruising and would not be able to make her expected engagement in the GI Longines Breeders' Cup Distaff at Santa Anita Nov. 4.

“We are grateful to Kiaran McLaughlin and his team for the care they have given her over the last three years and look forward to her future foals,” the post stated.

4-year-old Cavorting won graded stakes in each of her three years at the track, compiling a record of 8-1-1 from 13 starts and earning a total of $2,063,000. She captured the GII Adirondack S. at Saratoga as a juvenile and the GI Longines Test S. and GII Prioress S. at three. The bay retires in the midst of a three-race win streak, which included scores in the June 11 GI Ogden Phipps S. at Belmont and the Aug. 27 GI Personal Ensign S. at Saratoga.

Cavorting was acquired by Stonestreet for $360,000 as a Keeneland November weanling. A daughter of GSW Promenade Girl, Cavorting has a 'TDN Rising Star' juvenile half-brother named Thirstforlife (Stay Thirsty) who finished third in the GII Best Pal S. in August.
