Boyd T. Browning, Sr. of Lexington passed away Monday at the age of 84.
Husband to Jane Barnard Browning and the father of Fasig-Tipton President and CEO Boyd Browning, Jr., Browning, Sr. was born June 2, 1933 in Lebanon, Kentucky, to the late Charles and Florence Cooper Browning. He was a member of Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and a Korean War veteran. He retired from IBM after 33 years and also owned B & J Sales Specialties for 25 years.
Browning is also survived by daughter Peggy (Robin) Brooks; five grandchildren, Brittany (Justin) Manning, Taylor (Cheree) Brooks, Megan Browning, Paige Browning and Bailey Browning; a great grandson, Jack Brooks; two sisters, Connie Stallard and Ann Sousa; one brother, James K. (Cathy) Browning; and several nieces and nephews.
A mass will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, Sept. 14 at Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. A burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home on Harrodsburg Road.
