Bahrain Trophy Draws 46

A total of 46 entries-led by MGISW Desert Encounter (Ire) (Halling)–have been taken for the inaugural running of the Bahrain International Trophy at Bahrain Racecourse on Nov. 22. The two-time winner of the GI Pattison Canadian International S. races in the colours of Abdulla Al Mansoori for David Simcock. Set to be conducted over 2000 metres on grass, the race drew horses from six different nations: Bahrain (8), Britain (23), UAE (5), Ireland (4), Germany (3) and France (3). “To have so many high quality horses entered, from six different countries, in our first year is extremely exciting,” said Shaikh Salman bin Rashed al Khalifa, Executive Director of the Rashid Equestrian & Horse Racing Club. “We are optimistic that by attracting the best trainers and jockeys from around the world, the Bahrain International Trophy will become a key date in the international racing calendar for many years to come.”
