Astrology Gets First SW at Delaware

Clairvoyant Lady became the first black-type winner for her freshman sire (by A.P. Indy), getting up in the final strides to cause a boilover in the White Clay Creek S. A debut fifth at Parx June 11, the $35,000 OBS April graduate broke her maiden by a neck against $40,000 maiden taggers at Laurel Park July 15, but was a decided outsider here behind 1-5 You Know Too. Allowed to settle fifth in this field of sixth, Clairvoyant Lady improved one spot on the turn, but was hard-ridden and one-paced turning for home. The chalk, three wide and going apparently well as they left the quarter pole behind, began to show some signs of distress inside the final eighth of a mile and Clairvoyant Lady was able to grind her way past in the shadow of the post.
