Amy's Challenge dismantled a maiden special weight field by 16 1/2 lengths in her debut Aug. 6 at Canterbury Park before capturing the Shakopee Juvenile S. with a 92 Beyer Speed Figure there Sept. 16.
The dark bay bobbled at the start, but recovered quickly to race three wide in a close-up fourth through a swift first quarter in :21.48. Ranging up alongside favored “TDN Rising Star” and pacesetter Mia Mischief, Amy's Challenge locked horns with the chalk and they quickly put away the rest of the field. The pair battled down the lane with Amy's Challenge relentlessly trying to wear down the leader and Mia Mischief refusing to give in. Amy's Challenge finally wore down her rival in the final strides, edging clear to keep her perfect record in tact.
She is the lone foal to race out of undefeated Jump Up, who also has a yearling colt by Include and was bred to First Samurai last year.
